Terms of Use for Norskstudio

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Norskstudio application ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. By using our Service, regardless of your location, you agree to these Terms and to the application of Norwegian laws and regulations to the use of our Service.

2. Description of Service

Norskstudio is a language learning application designed to help users practice and improve their Norwegian language skills through quizzes, exercises, and progress tracking.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to disable any user account if, in our opinion, you have violated any provision of these Terms.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

4.1 Our Content

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Ekspertkanalen.no and are protected by Norwegian copyright law (Åndsverksloven), as well as international copyright laws, trademark law, patent law, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

All content within the Service is protected under the Norwegian Copyright Act (Lov om opphavsrett til åndsverk mv. - Åndsverksloven) and the EU Copyright Directive (Directive 2001/29/EC). Unauthorized use, reproduction, modification, distribution, or display of the Service or its contents is strictly prohibited.

Educational content, quizzes, exercises, and all text and media within the application are protected as literary and artistic works under Åndsverksloven § 2, giving Ekspertkanalen.no exclusive rights to control how the content is used and distributed.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable national or international law or regulation
  • Use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
  • Use the Service to transmit or upload any viruses, malware, or other malicious code
  • Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the Service

6. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to withdraw or amend our Service, and any service or material we provide via the Service, in our sole discretion without notice. We will not be liable if for any reason all or any part of the Service is unavailable at any time or for any period.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Ekspertkanalen.no, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
  • Any content obtained from the Service
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our operations are subject to Norwegian law, including but not limited to:

  • The Norwegian Copyright Act (Åndsverksloven)
  • The Norwegian Marketing Control Act (Markedsføringsloven)
  • The Norwegian Personal Data Act (Personopplysningsloven)
  • The Norwegian Consumer Purchase Act (Forbrukerkjøpsloven), where applicable
  • The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as implemented in Norwegian law

Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts, specifically the Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett) as the agreed legal venue.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect, in accordance with Norwegian consumer protection laws. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you are no longer authorized to use the Service.
